A poor person, while wishing to imitate a powerful one, is ruined. In a meadow once a frog caught sight of a cow and, touched by envy at its great size, puffed up its wrinkled skin. Then it asked its children if it was bigger than the cow. They said “No”. Again it stretched its skin with a greater effort, and asked in the same way, who was bigger. They said “The cow”. Upset for the last time, while trying to puff itself up more mightily, it lay there with its body burst.
